Artist Statement
For the past 15 years, Justin Kern, owner of JK Glass Co., has put his heart into every piece he creates. Justin finds inspiration in the nostalgia of collecting acorns as a kid, making ghosts from pvc pipe and nerf balls, and enjoying fruit while swinging on the porch swing with his grandma. This has led Justin to specialize in delightful seasonal art pieces such as acorns, ghosts, flowers, pumpkins, snowpeople, ornaments, and icicles. He has a particular affinity for working with patterns in glass and uses optic molds and color techniques, like reduction and striking colors, to add depth and dimension to his glasswork.
