Artist Statement
Kelly has been working with blown and fused glass since 2015 when she was invited to the apprentice program at the Bloomington Creative Glass Center.
Kelly is drawn to tactile materials; things that have pleasing or interesting textures. She enjoys delving deep into the appreciation of simple forms like circles, spheres, and cylinders. Organic lines like the natural flow of poured paint and swirls of color in blown glass are especially compelling.
Kelly continues to experiment with new techniques to support her ever evolving artistic style. Her current projects include tiny paintings, mementos of Indiana’s beautiful natural landscapes, Mid-Century Modern decor, memorial glass, recycled glass, divination tools, and quest relics for gamers.
She lives in Bloomington, IN and usually has a cat as a roommate. She has a habit of volunteering behind the scenes of an eclectic mix of community events like Lotus Fest, Krampus Night, Shoreline Cleanup, & The great Glass Pumpkin Patch.
