Little Tiger Glassworks

Stained Glass and Fused Glass

Artist Statement

I’m a self-taught glass artist based out of Bloomington, Indiana and I operate under the business name Little Tiger Glassworks. I’ve been working as a full-time artist since 2021 and make all of my pieces in my home studio in Prospect Hill. I primarily use the Tiffany Technique of stained glass, which allows for highly detailed linework, but I love to experiment with glass fusing, kiln-fired painting, etching, leading, and plating to incorporate texture and depth. I also love to share what I’ve learned as an instructor for beginner stained glass artists.

Inspired by the naturalist illustrations of James Audubon, bubbly cartoons of Genndy Tartakovsky, and the traditional Tiffany-style glass of William Morris, my visual style might be described as a marriage of the cute/soft with the academic/antique. Thematically, I hope to share the stories of wildlife and their ecosystems, especially during this age of the Biodiversity Crisis. Because stained glass is most commonly associated with religious parables, meant to tell stories among a congregation and inspire spiritual connection, I believe the medium is already primed to be an excellent vector for sharing sacred stories of our world’s ecological phenomenon.
